Cypress's own 77433 just landed at No. 7 on a new national ranking of the hottest ZIP codes for inbound movers in the first half of 2026, according to fresh mover-data analysis — putting it right up there with neighboring Katy as one of the country's top relocation magnets. If the new subdivisions and the school-zone traffic already had you convinced everyone was moving here, the data agrees with you.

Newer housing stock, strong schools, and easy access to major job centers are doing the heavy lifting, per the report — which is a nice way of saying the secret's out on Cy-Fair.

Dan Mitsven has been the steady hand behind Lone Star College–CyFair's Student Government Association since 2018, and this month the American Student Government Association named him its national SG Advisor of the Month for July — a title that goes to exactly one advisor in the whole country, out of every community college campus in it.

"It's nice to be recognized for years of service as an advisor," Mitsven said of the honor. Eight years of steering student government through a campus this size earns more than a nice email — it earns the whole country's attention.

Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez is putting out the word to Cypress and Towne Lake drivers: summer's busy parking lots and late nights are prime season for auto theft, and he'd like your car to stop advertising itself as an easy target. The Sheriff's Office is also running free catalytic-converter VIN etching to make stolen parts harder to resell.

"Summer means road trips, late nights, and busy parking lots — and unfortunately, it also means more opportunities for auto theft," Gonzalez said. Lock it, don't leave valuables in plain sight, and consider the free etching — cheap insurance against a very expensive headache.

Lone Star College–CyFair's Falcon Internship Program just notched another win: a recent alum credits the program with sharpening his interview skills and confidence enough to land a paid sales position at 3 Men Movers. No unpaid-coffee-run internship here — this is the "actually leads to a real job" kind.

"FIP helped me identify my strengths, improve my communication skills, especially in interviews, and gain confidence when interacting with employers," the graduate said. If you know a Cy-Fair student wondering whether a community-college internship is worth the effort, this is your Exhibit A.

More than 175 Cy-Fair ISD baseball players just landed on the 16-6A and 17-6A All-District Academic Teams for the season — proof that a lot of these kids can turn a double play and still ace a chemistry test in the same week.
