Dominique Dawes brings her academy to Jersey Village. Three-time Olympic gold medalist Dominique Dawes held a ribbon cutting May 29 and a grand opening May 30 for her new gymnastics and ninja academy at 19714 Hwy. 290. Programs cover recreational gymnastics, tumbling, ninja, and competitive tracks for all ages. Classes officially start June 1. Read more →

CFISD brings home three UIL Academic State titles. Cypress Springs won its first-ever state title — a 12-point victory in Spelling — and Cypress Woods claimed Computer Science (team and individual) plus Mathematics at UT Austin on May 18–19. A big week for Cy-Fair brains. 🏅 Read more →

All The Crave Cheesecakes closes permanently. The beloved Cypress dessert shop shut its doors for good May 30. Owners Marlene and Darrel Farmer are stepping away to focus on health and family — and earned every send-off from their loyal regulars. Read more →

Harris County Judge race heads to November. In last Monday's runoff, Letitia Plummer beat Annise Parker 57,755 to 55,213 for the Democratic nomination; Republican Orlando Sanchez won his primary. Both advance to a November 3 general election showdown for Harris County Judge. Read more →
